Most of this goes into new machines. Long turning, keyways, threads and stepped diameters, in ones or in sets.

Size
How long we have gone
2,252mm, faced full length with a keyway and a chamfer. That is a shaft we made, not a catalogue number.
Send the drawing with the overall length and the largest diameter. We will tell you within the day whether it suits our machines.
We take on repair work too — end machining, re-threading or a new journal on a shaft you already have — where a new shaft is not the sensible answer.
Materials
What shafts get made from
1045 bright and black. 4140 and 4340 heat treated. 20MnV6 to DIN 1629 and E470 seamless tube. 1018 and 1020 bright mild. 304 and 316 stainless, and 431 through-hardened where the shaft has to take wear and corrosion both.
Mill certificates can come with the part. Ask when you lodge the job.
